Returning Student

Follow These Steps:

  1. Update your information - Complete the Online Application, or in-person at the Admissions Office. Please allow four (4) working days for processing after receipt of the online signature page or application. (If applying online be sure to log off after applying.)
  2. Update or Create your MySierra Account - you will use your MySierra account to register for courses on-line, review your schedule, fees, or grades, or access the library database.
  3. Apply for Financial Aid - There are many different financial aid programs available.
  4. Complete Assessment - Assessment in reading, English and mathematics helps determine your skill level & needs.
  5. Attend Orientation, Meet with a Counselor- Find out about rules and policies that may affect your college experience. Then, meet with a counselor, who will help you to develop your educational plan, refer you to appropriate services and answer specific questions and concerns. A counseling appointment is not required, however, we encourage all students to see a counselor at least once a semester. Appointments can be made via our Online Appointment System (Rocklin or Nevada County Campus only) or by calling (916) 781-0531 (Rocklin Campus) or (530) 274-5303 (Nevada County Campus) or (530) 550-2225 (Truckee Center).
  6. Register for Courses - Two ways to register!
  7. Get your Student ID Card and Activity Sticker. Your Student ID card is free of charge and may be obtained at the Admissions and Records Office on the Rocklin Campus or the Nevada County Campus. You will need your ID card to check out library materials, to use the computer lab or tutor center. The activity sticker may be purchased through the Admissions Office and provides discounts to community and campus events.
  8. Purchase your Rocklin books online or NCC books online - You can get a list of required textbooks, purchase your books on-line, find information about store locations, or purchase Sierra College spirit merchandise.
