Follow These Steps:

  1. Submit an Application - Complete the Online Application. Within 4 business days of submission online, you will receive two emails from Sierra College containing important information, including your Sierra college ID number, MySierra Login information & your Sierra College email account address.
  2. Assessment - If you plan to take English, Math, Reading or English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, you must take the Assessment Placement Test. Students do not need Assessment if they have placement scores from another college dated within the last five years or have transcripts from another college containing English, Math, Reading or ESL classes with passing grades or have passing scores on Math and/or English Advanced Placement exams. To request placement eligibility for these classes:
    • Bring your test scores or official/unofficial transcripts with you when you meet with a counselor, or
    • If you are not meeting with a counselor you may fax your placement documents with this form to the assessment center at (916) 630-4513.
    Please allow 3 to 5 business days for processing. Assessment scores (5) years or older are not accepted for course placement. If you do not plan to take English, Math, Reading or ESL classes, Assessment is not required. If you have additional questions, you may use our online counseling service.
  3. Attend Orientation, Meet with a Counselor - Find out about rules and policies that may affect your college experience. Then, meet with a counselor who will help develop your educational plan, refer you to appropriate services and answer questions and concerns. If you have attended orientation at another school but would like to meet with a counselor, you may call the counseling office to schedule an appointment or you can access online counseling here.
  4. Go to MySierra to Register for Courses you will be sent instructions on how to set up your MySierra account where you may; register for courses on-line, review your schedule, pay fees, view grades and access the library database.
