Annual Juried Student Show

Prospectus

Dates of Exhibit: April 2 – May 1, 2009

ELIGIBILITY: This exhibition is open to all students of the campuses of Sierra College. All work accepted for exhibition by the juror will be displayed in the Ridley Gallery, Rm 102 of the Learning Resource Center at Sierra College in Rocklin. It is the right of the juror to determine the selections of work for the exhibit and prizes that are awarded. Jurors receive a copy of the “National Guidelines for Jurying Exhibitions” adopted by the National Board of Directors of Artists Equity Association, Inc.

ENTRY FEE: $3.00 per entry. Limit of three entries, no more than two in any one category.

ENTRY CATEGORIES: Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, Printmaking, Multimedia, Photography, Digital Prints, Sculpture, Graphic Design, Jewelry, Metal Art, Woodworking and Mixed Media

AWARDS: Cash awards, purchase awards and gift certificates will be awarded for outstanding work.

Thursday, April 16th, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Ridley Gallery

ENTRY RULES

  • All work must be ready for display. Two-dimensional work must be matted and framed. Wall sculptures should have appropriate hanging devices attached. All paint must be dry. Ceramics must be glazed or finished-no green ware.
  • If it is the intent of the artist to display the work in a different manner, such as large format drawings, which might be displayed unframed, or conceptual pieces, instructions and hanging devices should accompany the work.
  • Plain glass with frame clips will not be accepted. Plexiglas with gallery clips o.k. with hanging wire attached. All frames must have wire attached on the back.
  • Work must be submitted to the Ridley Gallery and entry fees paid on
    • Monday, March 23, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    • Tuesday, March 24, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

* After jurying process is completed a list will be posted on the gallery doors by Thurs, March 26. Please do not interrupt juror or gallery staff during jurying!

  • Work not accepted must be picked up by Tues, March 31, 4:00 p.m. Artwork exhibited in the show must be picked up May 4 & 5, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • The gallery will retain a 20% commission from any work sold in the exhibition.
  • Work must have been completed within the last two years while a student of any campus of Sierra College.
  • No high school work will be accepted.
  • All work must be original. No copies of other artworks will be accepted.
  • Jurors for 2009 will be announced soon.

During the school year, the Ridley Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., and closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Gallery is located on the ground floor, room 102, of the Library/Learning Resource Center on the Sierra College Rocklin Campus, 5000 Rocklin Road, Rocklin, CA.
