The Scollies feature eye-popping creativity from festival contestants who have a chance to win one of six $300 scholarships, to make professional industry contacts, and to have work presented and recognized on a big screen in front of the community.
The entries are screened by a panel of professionals in search of new and creative work in animation and video. Accepted entries will be presented at the festival, followed by the presentation of scholarships and awards. It boasts an exciting panel of judges and speakers, all industry professionals with impressive backgrounds in animation or video, eager to share their knowledge with aspiring artists in the field.
Presenters from the first Scollies included Sierra College alumni Bob Koch, Lead Animator at Lucas Arts, who worked for Disney, Time Warner, and Pixar, including “Toy Story 2” and “A Bugs Life”; and Josh Reis, who owns JRLAB in Southern California, a Motion Graphics, DVD Authoring and Short Form Online Finishing Studio.
