Developing college and university students into a global network of responsible citizens and leaders with a lifelong commitment to service.
Circle K International (CKI) is the largest collegiate community service, leadership development, and fellowship organization in the world. With more than 11,000 members in 17 nations, CKI is making a positive impact on the world every single day.
Our first meeting will be an informational meeting on Monday Sept. 15, 2008 in room V-318 from 12-1 p.m.
Weekly meetings will be held thereafter same time and same place.
Circle K clubs are organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. CKI is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, and determines its own activities.
Circle K International offers college student three basic things: Service, Leadership, and Fellowship
Service
Circle K International offers students the opportunity to works with people and organizations from around the world. Whether you are looking to help out in your own community or help those out on the other side of the globe, Circle K can show you the way. With CKI service is a fundamental element. Collectively, CKI members perform more than 1 million hours of service annually on their campuses and in their communities. Through this service, CKI is changing the world.
Leadership
Leadership is one of the three tenets of Circle K International. Do you show leadership by holding an office in your club, or are you a leader simply because you chose to join CKI? Is leadership about the skills you can receive to become a better leader, or the ways you can teach others how to become great leaders? We think it’s all of the above. To instill a strong sense of leadership in all its members, CKI has made it a mission to afford members the resources and tools needed to become great leaders
Fellowship
Every CKI member describes fellowship in his or her own unique way. To one, it’s a shy smile from a child learning to read. To another, it’s an enthusiastic hug from a friend made at a convention more than a year ago. Indeed, fellowship means something different to everyone—but in the end, the stories have a common thread: Friendships. Bonds. Trust. Companionship.
Whether a CKI member is mentoring a child, networking with a business professional, or laughing with members during a convention, he or she is developing social skills, meeting new people, and strengthening relationships.
Events and Opportunities
Fall 2008 is the first semester of operation for Sierra College Circle K International. Being that this is a new club new opportunities and ideas are always welcome. Events are being planned such as work with the Roseville SPCA, St. Philomene’s, and also events with other chapters from schools such as UC Davis and Sac State to name a few. Whether you are a seasoned member of many clubs, or just interested in getting involved in a club for the first time, we’d be glad to show you about Circle K. Also, if you have ever had a desire in learning how to help set up and market a brand new club on campus this is your chance! We have leadership positions still open.
