Goals

The goal of the academy is to provide personalized instruction for girls on the fundamentals of basketball with an emphasis on developing shooting techniques, ball handling, passing and defensive skills. Positional sills such as post and guard offense and defense will be emphasized throughout the week. In addition, players will participate in 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, and 5 on 5 games throughout the week.

Highlights

  • The Sierra College women's basketball coaching staff, current and past team players, and other top coaches will be on hand throughout the camp to work with all of the players.
  • Individual and small group instruction to develop proper fundamental skills and techniques
  • Instructional and training videos
  • Each player will have their shot videotaped

Students are to bring their lunch.

Location

  • Sierra College is located at 5000 Rocklin Road, just east of I-80 between Roseville and Loomis.
  • A campus map will be mailed with your confirmation.
  • Activities will be held in the College gymnasium.
  • Daily parking permits are $3.

Camp Co-Directors

Brandi Murrish

Under Murrish’s guidance, the Wolverine’s have continued to dominate the Sacramento region and have finished in the Top 20 in the State for the past 8 season. Her success on the court has translated into dozens of student-athletes going on to excel at the 4 year level academically and athletically. She believes success is built on confidence and confidence comes from knowing you are well prepared. Coach Murrish stresses hands-on learning with one camp coach for every six campers, guaranteeing quality individual instruction.

Scott Pisik

…enters his eighth year as assistant for Sierra’s Women’s Basketball Team and his 24th season overall. Coach Pisik has directed NBC camps nationally and brings an intensity that motivates players to improve in the off-season.
