Sierra College Serving Our Community by Hosting Vaccine Hub in Rocklin for Kaiser Permanente Members

February 17, 2021

Kaiser Permanente has partnered with Sierra College to vaccinate its members in a mass vaccination hub established at Sierra College in Rocklin. Kaiser Permanente has joined with other health organizations and public health organizations to vaccinate their members and the general public using a network of COVID-19 mass vaccination hubs throughout the state.

“As the community’s college, our first responsibility is serving our community. Nearly fifty percent of all those with health coverage, or almost a third of all residents, in Placer County are Kaiser Permanente members,” said Sierra College Superintendent/President Willy Duncan. “I’m happy to do our part and open our facilities to protect our community and help move us closer to the end of this pandemic.”

Sierra College in Rocklin is one of several sites Kaiser Permanente is operating to help vaccinate members ages 75 and older and eventually will expand to include more priority groups as vaccine supplies increase.

“Kaiser Permanente has already vaccinated thousands of people and as long as we continue to get supply, those numbers will go up. Our goal is to serve as many people as efficiently as possible, as supplies become available. These larger locations allow us to do that,” said Kim Menzel, senior vice president and area manager, for Kaiser Permanente Roseville. “We are proud to partner with organizations and locations like Sierra College to bring vaccinations into the community where it might be a little more accessible.”

Eligibility and Scheduling

Eligible Kaiser Permanente members in Placer County will be contacted for an appointment. All vaccinations are by appointment only. No walk-up appointments will be available.

This vaccination site will initially open at a lower vaccination capacity due to limited vaccine supply. Once adequate vaccine supply is distributed by the state of California, Kaiser Permanente expects to increase the availability of vaccination appointments. With available supply, the Rocklin site could give up to 1,500 vaccinations a day.

Those working for Sierra College and residing in Placer County who are not Kaiser Permanente members may schedule an appointment through Placer County at  https://www.placer.ca.gov/vaccineclinics

Access to Campus

The Sierra College campuses and locations in Rocklin, Nevada County, Tahoe-Truckee, and Roseville Center continue to be open to essential personnel only, which includes those visiting campus to administer and receive vaccines. Parking for the vaccination clinics is in lots A1 and A2. Parking passes are not required for the vaccination clinics.
