Future Projects

Building for the Next Generation of Students

Approximately $500 million will be invested over the next decade to support new construction and modernization of Sierra College's Rocklin campus facilities. This construction program will create modern and comfortable classrooms, offices and gathering places, which will allow Sierra College to serve future generations of area residents.

Future projects include:

Performing Arts Modernization and Expansion

Project budget: $27M
Estimated start of construction: Spring 2027
Estimated construction completion: Fall 2028

State and Measure E funded

  • Modernize the Dietrich Theatre, which is a marquis building with high visibility from Rocklin Road and provides a visual introduction to the campus
  • Expand the facility to incorporate the functions of the music building into an integrated Performing Arts Center

Public Safety Training Center

Project budget: $49.9M 
Estimated start of construction: Spring 2027
Estimated construction completion: Winter 2028

State and Measure E funded

  • The project will move Administration of Justice, Health Science and Fire Technology programs out of currently leased space at the Roseville Center
  • It is anticipated this facility may also serve and train local and regional fire and law enforcement agencies

Student Union Modernization and Expansion - Phase 2

Project budget: $28.6
Estimated start of construction: Winter 2027
Estimated construction completion: Fall 2029
Measure E funded

  • Project will renovate and update the current Campus Center and Cafe, Bookstore and Student Engagement Center spaces into a Student Union
  • New Student Union will support the new hub of Student Life on campus, adjacent to the new Student Residence

West Placer CSUS Transfer Center

30,000 gross square feet
Project budget: $43.8M 
Estimated start of construction: Winter 2026
Estimated construction completion: Summer 2028

This future project will establish a Sierra College Center on the future Sacramento State satellite campus in western Placer County (north of Sunset Blvd and west of Highway 65).

Winstead Hall Modernization

Project budget: $29.9M 
Estimated start of construction: Fall 2025
Estimated construction completion: Summer 2027
State and Measure E funded

This project will modernize and expand the primary Student Services building on the Rocklin campus, Winstead Hall (L), allowing for the consolidation of the most critical student support services currently located in multiple buildings around campus. Winstead is centrally located adjacent to the proposed Student Union (J).
