Academic Standards
This committee reviews student requests for academic renewal and other transcript changes.

Career & Technical Education (CTE)
The groups oversees the District’s meeting of federal and state grant requirements regarding career and technical education
Denise Bushnell, Chair Third Friday of month; 7:30-8:30 a.m. in L-193
This committee is charged with all curricular decisions, including adherence to Title 5, regarding courses, certificates, and degrees.

Distance Learning and Instructional Technology (D-LIT)
This committee was formed to address the specific requirements for and changes to pedagogy, content and evaluation within online and other distance learning modalities.

Gender Equity
Explore campus climate and identify specific gender inequalities in order to create an action plan for gender equity at Sierra College.

This committee was implemented to oversee the Honors program and its contracts, along with establishing program specifics that allow our Honors students to be recognized at transfer institutions for their advanced work
Rebecca Quinn, Chair Meets 2 times a semester: during Flex week and toward the end of the semester
This committee oversees the important resource of the library in meeting curricular and faculty needs.

Natural History Museum
This committee oversees another unique and valuable resource for Sierra and the community, planning for acquisitions, new displays and other planning and resource allocations.

New Legacy
The committee’s purpose is to implement programs and strategies to support and improve success rates and student outcomes for historically under-represented students.

Program Review
This committee orchestrates the Program Review process, establishing the criteria, process and timeline for the review process, reads and evaluates submitted reviews and forwards recommendations on the health and well-being of programs to the Academic Senate and to PARAC.

The Spectrum Committee, as a standing committee of the Academic Senate, exists as a formal body whose mission included improving the success and retention of Sierra College’s LGBTIQ students as well as ensuring them a safe campus climate.

Staff Development
This committee, formed with staff and management representation as well, promotes professional development throughout campus and oversees allocation of travel/conference funds, and adherence to District and committee travel requirements

Student Learning Committee (SLC)
This committee and its ambassadors oversee our integration of student learning and program outcomes in adherence to accreditation standards
Kent Fortin, Chair 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m., location: TBA.
Student Success (formerly Matriculation)
This group writes and administers the Title 5 requirements around matriculation (assessment, orientation, educational plan and counseling) for incoming students.
