Additional Training Opportunities
If you’re interested in broadening your range as an emergency responder, there are a variety of educational paths you can take. Whatever path you choose, your career will allow you to make a difference in people’s lives.
- Firefighter Technology students train for 4 semesters to earn an AA/AS degree to prepare for a career in the fire service. Certificates and skills certificates can also be earned.
- Firefighter 1 and 2 Academy students gain the tools, training and education to be hired as a certified firefighter by a professional fire service agency.
- Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) train for 1 semester in Health Sciences and work in fire departments, as ambulance providers, in hospital emergency rooms, and search and rescue.
